Windtalkers is the first feature film to tell the story of a secret military
program for which a small group of Navajo Indians were recruited in order
to develop their native language into code. In 1942, approximately 400
additional Navajo learned the code as Marine volunteers and joined the
frontlines in the Pacific. The Navajo code, an indispensable tool for
communication, became the only code never broken by the Japanese. On July
26, 2001, President Bush honored the original 29 Code Talkers, five of
whom are still living, with the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest
civilian honour awarded by Congress.
In the brutal World War II Battle of Saipan, Sergeant Joe Enders (Cage)
guards – and ultimately befriends – Ben Yahzee (Beach), a
young Navajo trained in the one wartime code never broken by the enemy,
the Navajo Code. But if Yahzee should fall into Japanese hands, how far
will Enders go to save the military’s most powerful secret?

packaging on April 1st from
MGM Home Entertainment. Delivering their most memorable performances as
Maria and Tony, Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer (“Twin Peaks”)

of star-crossed lovers also features Rita Moreno and George Chakiris in
their OscarÒ-winning* performances.
Striking a chord with die-hard fans, the West Side Story Special Edition

The two-disc set features exclusive footage of Natalie Wood’s original
recording of “I Feel Pretty,” which was later replaced with

in a cross-promotion with 1-800 Flowers for the creation of themed flower

A triumph on every level, the West Side Story set a standard for modern
movie musicals that remains unsurpassed to this day. Featuring an unforgettable
score (“Maria,” “America,” “Somewhere,”
“Tonight,”
“I Feel Pretty”) and groundbreaking choreography, the film
sets the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet against the backdrop of gang warfare
in 1950s New York. Starring Wood, Beymer, Russ Tamblyn, Moreno and Chakiris,
West Side Story is “a stunning piece of visual entertainment”
(Boxoffice) and “the best film musical ever made”
(The New Republic).
